We at Xessable are big believers in mutual work and collaboration across engineering by combining individual expertise for problem solving and creative thinking processes. We understand the latest technologies and build the best solutions for our clients.

Seeking team members who care about results, who are not afraid of taking ownership and who are eager to learn continuously.

For one of our biggest clients, we are currently looking for a UI /UX designer to join the team.

The client

Horeko is a Dutch company enabling hospitality companies (such as restaurants) to manage their business, with a focus on practical solutions and helping their customers improve their profitability and streamline their operations. Horeko’s innovative software (both web based and an iOS + Android app) is implemented in over a thousand companies, serving tens of thousands of users daily.

The customers use Horeko to manage their recipes, organize their kitchen operations, to schedule their staff in the most efficient way and to track worked time. Horeko aims to improve the hospitality industry by providing user-friendly solutions that provide easy insight and actionable data. Our complete solution is extensive and offers complex functionalities.

Horeko currently has five development teams, each having the responsibility for their part of the solution. There is a lot of team spirit and opportunity to grow. For instance, all the team leads have grown in this role internally (three in Macedonia, two in the Netherlands). Contact with your colleagues will at least be during the daily standup and other meetings and can also be at the office (in Skopje).

About the role

We are looking for a new UI /UX designer to join Design & Discovery team at Horeko. We already have one experienced lead UI /UX designer, who will help you grow into or expand your potential. You will also work closely together with two Business Analysts in The Netherlands.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Evaluating user requirements from Business Analysts and Product Owners
  • Designing interface mock-ups and prototypes in Figma
  • Writing supporting functional explanations for the developers and testers
  • Implementing company style standards and helping improve those standards
  • Gathering feedback and reviewing the created designs to improve them
  • Following UX best practices and standards (such as UI patterns and usability heuristics)
  • Communication with various stakeholders
  • Designing micro-animations (optional)

 What we expect from you

  • First and foremost, we are looking for someone who is eager, creative and practical
  • You should be able to think it through from a user perspective and make good designs for it, with attention and an eye for detail
  • You understand the characteristics of designing product software / applications and how that differs from designing a website

We are flexible regarding the amount of experience you have. You should at least have some portfolio of interface designs that you have made, even if they are for fictional projects. If you are the right person in terms of character and motivation, we will help you get the practical experience. On the other hand: if you are already (very) experienced, we are very interested in you also. In that case, you will get to work more independently and be given more responsibility. You will help our Design & Discovery team to upscale and build our product on a next level.

Education

A relevant Bachelor’s Degree (B.Sc.), such as Graphic Design or Informatics and Computer engineering, or having followed UX courses is considered as a plus.

You will work directly with our client, so fluent English is required
